Harare (until April 18, 1982 Salisbury) is the largest city and capital of Zimbabwe and is located in the province of Harare Metropolitan in the northern central part of the country. In the urban area around 1.5 million inhabitants (census 2012), in the metropolitan area is about 2.9 million (2007 estimate). Largest suburb is Chitungwiza south of Harare International Airport, and has about 350,000 inhabitants (2012).
