Saint Peter Port or St. Peter Port is the capital and main port city of Guernsey. The village is located on the east coast of the island and has 18,599 inhabitants (2015). This means that around a third of the population lives in Guernsey's capital. In French, the second official language of Guernsey, is the town of Saint-Pierre-Port. Officially, only the English spelling is used.
