Rustington is a community and seaside resort on the English Channel near Littlehampton in West Sussex, Arun County. Despite a population of 12,676 (2001) and a small-town character of the place has retained the status of a village due to a vote of the population. Rustington has rail connections through the Angmering train station. In the center are some cottages from the 17th and 18th centuries worth seeing, some of them thatched. The place was in 1952 venue of the World Chess Championship. A town twinning exists with the city of Los Altos (California) and since 2002 with the community Künzell / Germany.
