Robin Hood's Bay is a small fishing village on the British North Sea coast southeast of the city of Whitby at the inner end of the bay of the same name. In recent decades, the place gained strong tourist importance. A substantive connection to the figure of Robin Hood is unassignable, the name seems arbitrary. The native and traditional name of the village is Bay Town.
