Merthyr Tydfil (Welsh: Merthyr Tudful) is a city and principal area in South Wales. The city is named after the 480 n. Chr. Martyr killed Tydfil, daughter of the Welsh chieftain Brychan Brycheiniog, king of Brycheiniog. Tydfil was killed because of their Christian faith from pagan Anglo-Saxons and later canonized.
