Kingsbridge (6116 inhabitants) is a town in the South Hams district in Devon (England) and is located at the northern end of the Kingsbridge Estuary. The origins of Kingsbridge date back to the 13th century. The city was an important market town for centuries. Today, it is off the major traffic routes; so, it is however not connected to the railway network. In the historic city of St Edmunds Cathedral and the local museum in particular are worth seeing. The mentioned in the historical novels The Pillars of the Earth and World Without End by Ken Follett Kingsbridge describes another, fictional town of the same name. The German twin town of Kingsbridge is the community Weilerbach near Kaiserslautern.
