Jedburgh (Scottish: Jeddart / Jethart, Scottish Gaelic: Deadard) is a town in the Scottish Borders and is a former Royal Burgh (city statute with Royal - Royal Charter) in the traditional county of Roxburghshire. Jedburgh lies on the Jed Water, a tributary of the River Teviot, not far from the Scottish-English border. The ruins of the Augustinian Monastery Jedburgh Abbey and the former fortress Jedburgh Castle dominate the cityscape. The city has no rail connection, however integrated into the UK's motorway network.
