Groombridge is a village of about 1600 people. It lies on the border between Kent and East Sussex in England. The nearest major city is Royal Tunbridge Wells, about 7.2 km away. The main part of the village ("New Groombridge") is located in Parish Withyham in the district Wealden in East Sussex. In New Groombridge is a primary school with the Church of St. Thomas, part of the Diocese of Chichester. There is a general store, a bakery, a post office, a hairdressing salon, a car dealership and a tavern. The oldest part of the village ("Old Groombridge") is located in Parish Speldhurst in the borough of Tunbridge Wells in Kent. Old Groombridge has the church of St. John, which is part of the diocese of Rochester. There is also an inn, but no shops.
