Chalfont St Giles

Chalfont St Giles is a town and civil parish in the county of Buckinghamshire, Chiltern (District). The River Misbourne splits the place in half. The place name is derived from calcareous spring water. In 1086 he was registered in the Domesday Book, that is before the Norman Conquest of England. In 1665 John Milton settled here because of the great plague of London and completed his text Paradise Lost. His house is today a landmark. The Labor politician Nick Clegg was born here.
