Balbeggie is a town in the Scottish Unitary Authority Perth and Kinross and the traditional Scottish county of Perthshire. It is located about seven kilometers northeast of Perth and about 21 km west of Dundee. In 1991 Balbeggie recorded 782 inhabitants, which means a significant increase in population. In 1971, only 325 and 1961 and 284 people lived there. At the end of the 19th century, there was a Presbyterian church and a school for 120 pupils in Balbeggie. The latter was attended by an average of 68 students in 1879. Today, Balbeggie is connected to the trunk road network via the A94, which runs from Perth to Forfar. The nearest towns along the road are Scone to the southwest and Coupar Angus to the northeast. About 700 m to the southwest is the airport of Perth.
