Aultbea (Scottish Gaelic An t-Allt Beithe) is a small village in the Scottish council area Highland on the A832. The village is located on the shores of Loch Ewe, about which it is directly connected to the open sea, opposite the Isle of Ewe. Poolewe is located about 13 km south, Ullapool about 22 km to the east. During the two world wars Aultbea was used as a protected harbor; during the Second World War Arctic convoys of World War II have been compiled for the crossing to the Soviet Union by the Arctic Ocean there. Since the war, the Navy uses the port to refuel their ships. Since 2004 Aultbea is the location of the small distillery Loch Ewe.
