Mahdia (Arabic المهدية, DMG al-Mahdiyya) is a Tunisian town with 51,803 inhabitants, it is located southeast of Monastir, north of Chebba and northeast of El Jem on the coast of the Mediterranean. Mahdia is a Tunisian provincial center north of Sfax. It has an important fishing port and associated industries for processing fish. The Mahdia Governorate has an area of ​​2,966 square kilometers with a population of about 380,000 inhabitants.
