Farsta is one of Stockholm's suburbs south of the city and has about 45,000 inhabitants. Farsta is predominantly residential area. Farsta Centrum, opened on 23 October 1960 was the direct planning and architectural continuation of Vällingby Centrum (inaugurated in 1956). Client and architect were, as in Vällingby Centrum, the municipal housing company Svenska Bostäder and the architects Backström & Reinius.
