Raszyn [raʃɨn] is a village and seat of a rural community in Poland five kilometers southwest of Warsaw. It has about 6,800 inhabitants and is part of the pruszków county in the province Mazovia. On April 19, 1809 Polish troops tried in vain during the Austrian campaign against the Duchy of Warsaw in the Battle of Raszyn, to prevent the taking of Warsaw.
