Legnica [lɛgɲitsa]? / I (German Legnica) is a city in Lower Silesia in southwestern Poland. Major industries are the textile industry and the metalworking industry. The city of Legnica is county seat of Legnica County and the seat of the diocese of Legnica, a Roman Catholic diocese. Until 1945 Legnica was the capital of the administrative district Liegnitz in the Prussian province of Silesia.
