Tangier (Arabic طنجة Tandscha, DMG Ṭanǧa, Tamazight ⵜⵉⵏ ⵉⴳⴳⵉ Tin Iggi, Spanish Tánger) is a Moroccan city with 974,000 inhabitants (2014) in the north of the country in the province of Tangier-Asilah. It lies on the North African coast, just west of the Strait of Gibraltar. South of town is the Tangier-Boukhalef; between Tangiers and Ceuta there since 2007 with Tanger-Med a seaport for container and RoRo handling the Mediterranean.
