Azrou (tifinagh ⴰⵥⵕⵓ, Berber for "Rock", Arabic أزرو, DMG Azrū) is about 55,000 inhabitants, in the region of Fez-Meknes in northern Morocco. The historically important trade center of the Berber was because of its high altitude in the mountains of the Middle Atlas in the French colonial period a summer resort and is now a popular tourist destination.
