Morocco (Arabic المغرب al-maghrib, Tamazight ⵍⵎⴰⵖⵔⵉⴱ Elmaɣrib / ⵎⵓⵕⵕⴰⴽⵓⵛ Muṛṛakuc) long form Kingdom of Morocco, is a country in northwest Africa. It is separated from the continent by the Strait of Gibraltar. As the westernmost of the five (with Western Sahara six) Maghreb countries, it is bordered to the north by the Mediterranean, on the west by the Atlantic Ocean and the east by Algeria. The North African country is a constitutional monarchy since 1956 independently and according to the Constitution, 1992. Morocco's southern border is disputed internationally because of the Western Sahara conflict to the holding of a UN referendum on the future membership of the Western Sahara.
