Msambweni is a constituency in Kwale County, southern Kenya. By 2010, Msambweni was a separate district, but was incorporated into Kwale County as part of constitutional reform. According to the 2009 census, the constituency has 288,393 inhabitants. The constituency is located on the Indian Ocean between the city of Ukunda and the border with Tanzania. In contrast to neighboring areas like Diani Beach, there are few hotels, but large holiday homes. Furthermore, there is fishing and agriculture. To provide the population of the wider area there is a district hospital, as well as a training facility (college) for nurses. The climate in the coastal town is tropical, humid to 40 degrees Celsius. Flooding caused by heavy rains occurs regularly.
