Kenya

Kenya [Kenya] (Swahili, English Kenya [kʰɛnjə, kʰiːnjə]), officially the Republic of Kenya, is a country in East Africa. It borders South Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda and in the southeast of the Indian Ocean. The capital and largest city is Nairobi. The Kenyan economy is measured by gross domestic product, the largest in South-East and Central Africa. Kenya gained independence from Britain in 1963 in December. Following the adoption of a new constitution in August 2010 Kenya's semi-autonomous local authorities, called counties, divided into 47, in each of which an elected governor ruled.
