Jamaica

Jamaica [jamaɪ̯ka] / [dʒ-] (English Jamaica [dʒəmeɪkə]) is an island state within the Commonwealth of Nations in the Caribbean. The name derives from the arawakischen Xaymaca or Chaymakas, which means as much as source country or wood and water land. The former colony is known for its diverse culture, but also for their social and economic problems.
