Villasimius is a town with 3,663 inhabitants (December 31, 2015) in the extreme south-eastern Sardinia. Since 2016 it belongs to the province of Sud Sardegna. Today's modern town developed from a company founded in the 19th century pastoral village and is a popular resort. However, the area of the municipality has been inhabited since prehistoric times, in ancient times and the Middle Ages. Among other things, here was the Phoenician port Cuccureddus.
