Trapani (Sicilian Trapani) with more than 70,000 inhabitants, is the seventh largest city in the Italian region of Sicily and capital of the province. The ancient name of the city was Greek Drepanon (for crescent moon), Latin Drepanum. Name derives from the crescent-shaped reef was southwest of the old town in the sea.
