Isernia is the Italian province of Isernia in the Molise region, the capital. Located on the edge of Abruzzo city has 21,842 inhabitants (December 31, 2015) and is the seat of a bishop. Economically, the production of craft peaks and the food and building materials industry is significant. The neighboring municipalities are Carpinone, Forli del Sannio, Fornelli, Longano, Macchia d'Isernia, Miranda, Pesche Pettoranello del Molise, Roccasicura and Sant'Agapito. The ancient city of the same place was called Aesernia.
