Gubbio is a town in the Umbria region in Italy with 32,216 inhabitants (December 31, 2015), called Eugubini (the actual city area has 17,000 inhabitants). Gubbio lies in 522 meters above sea level on the slopes of Mount Ingino in the Apennines. In ancient times the place was called Iguvium, since the Middle Ages vernacular Agobbio, residents Agobbini. Gubbio is the seat of the Diocese of Gubbio the Roman Catholic Church.
