Forni di Sopra (Furlanish For Disore) is a municipality in the province of Udine with 993 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2015). Forni is on the border with the province of Belluno. The Tagliamento rises at the Mauriapass on the border between Friuli and Belluno. Already settled in pre-Roman times, the "Forni Savorgnani" 778 were first mentioned. The modern village consists of three factions: Andrazza, Cella and Vico. Forni lives mainly from tourism, as the mountains of the area, the Friulan Dolomites, are popular with mountaineers and skiers. Neighboring communities Fornis are Cimolais, Claut, Domegge di Cadore, Forni di Sotto, Lorenzago di Cadore, Sauris, Vigo di Cadore.
