Faver (German obsolete: Fafer) is a town in the municipality Altavalle and was until 2016 an Italian community (comune) in Trentino in the Trentino-Alto Adige. Faver is located about 15 kilometers northeast of Trento on the Avisio. The municipality belonged to the Comunità della Valle di Cembra and bordered directly on South Tyrol. The village lies at an altitude of 672 m s.l.m. Patron Saint of the place is Valentin von Terni. On January 1, 2016, the communities Faver, Valda, Grumes and Grauno joined together to form the new municipality Altavalle. The municipality covered an area of ​​9.4 km ² and had on December 31, 2015 849 inhabitants. Neighboring municipalities were Cembra, Salorno (BZ), Segonzano, Valda. The municipality included the fractions Ponciach, Portegnago and Rorè.
