Cortina d'Ampezzo (Ladin Anpëz or Anpezo, German (obsolete) Hayden) is a municipality in the Province of Belluno in the Veneto with 5,907 inhabitants (December 31, 2015). Cortina is a renowned winter and mountain sports center, which hosted the 1956 Winter Olympics as well as the Alpine Ski World Championships in 1932 and 1941. Tourism dominates the city from an economic and cultural point of view.
