Albignasego is a municipality of 25,577 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2015) in the province of Padova in the Veneto region of Italy. It belongs to the metropolitan area of Padua. The municipality is 9 km south of the provincial capital of Padua and 46 km west of Venice. The neighboring municipalities are Abano Terme, Casalserugo, Maserà di Padova, Padova and Ponte San Nicolò. On the territory of the municipality of Albignasego settled people already in the Bronze Age. At the time of the Romans the town belonged administratively to Padua. In Albignasego there are several beautiful villas. These are the Villa San Bonifacio (also called "Villa Mandriola"), the Villa Obizzi and the Villa Salom. Partnership with Galanta in Slovakia since 2007.
