Banjarmasin

Banjarmasin is the capital of the province of South Kalimantan, Indonesia, with about 560,000 inhabitants (2005). The city is located on a delta island near the mouth of the rivers Barito and Martapura. Therefore Banjarmasin is also called "River City", or "River City". Banjarmasin has an important deepwater port, are exported from which pepper, coal, petroleum products, gold, diamonds, etc.. Also there are coal mines and oil refineries in the city environment. The city is regularly hit by floods and flooded. The city is home to the state university Lambung Mangkurat (Universitas Lambung Mangkurat, UNLAM).
