Ghana [Gana] is a country in West Africa that borders the Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Togo and on the south by the Gulf of Guinea (Atlantic Ocean). Its area is almost as large as the United Kingdom, with its history is closely linked through the colonial period. With the name Ghana was historically a connection with "Ghana", the first name detectable empire in West Africa, are produced. The 1966 finished Lake Volta is the largest lake in the country and to this day the largest surface artificial waters of the earth.
