Teterow [teːtəroː] is a town in the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Germany), which originated in the 13th century. Between 1952 and 1994 Teterow was the county seat of the same circle. The city is the seat of the Office Mecklenburg Switzerland, which includes 15 municipalities, but even free. It is one of the 18 central centers of the country and after Güstrow and Bad Doberan, the third largest city in the district of Rostock. Teterow is known as a main town of the holiday region Mecklenburgische Schweiz, through its Burgwallinsel, the old town with many monuments and the annual motorcycle race on the Bergring.
