Schwedt / Oder [ʃveːt] is a town in the district Uckermark. It is one of the medium-sized towns in Brandenburg. In 2008, Schwedt was awarded the first city the title of National Park City, which is guided by resolution of Schwedt town council of 5 September 2013, as the official nickname of the city. Since October 27, 2013, the entrance sign of the city bear the additional designation "National Park City," which was approved on 30 October 2013 by the Brandenburg Ministry of Interior.
