Peiting is a market in Upper Bavaria Weilheim-Schongau. Surrounded by the moraine hills Schlossberg, Calvary, Schnaidberg and Bühlach Peiting is a place which has kept its Bavarian-village character despite the increase in population after the Second World War. Numerous farms are located outside the town in different hamlets. The place name probably derives from the noble Peutinger from that which was settled as early as the 6th century in the district. History meaningful is the place as the headquarters of the once resident Guelph. The municipality Peiting includes the settlement Herzogsägmühle, a facility of the Diakonie.
