Peine

Peine (Lower German Paane; Frühneuhochdeutsch Peina) is a city and independent village in northern Germany in Lower Saxony. The city, founded in 1220, has around 50,000 inhabitants. It is the county seat of the same district. the city is known for its steel industry. Even today Peiner in the construction industry synonymous with breitflanschige steel beams.
