Parchim (colloquially: Pütt, Low German: Parchen) is the county town of the district Ludwigslust-Parchim in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, 40 km south-east of the state capital Schwerin. In the office-level city Parchim, the administrative headquarters of the Office Parchimer Umland, composed of ten municipalities located. The city is one of the 18 central centers of the country.
