Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate (officially:. Neumarkt i.d.OPf, bairisch: Neimack, Neimoarkt) is a district town in the eponymous district in the Bavarian administrative region Upper Palatinate and the administrative headquarters of the district. It is the seat of several companies and is the economic and cultural center of the western Upper Palatinate between Nuremberg, Ingolstadt and Regensburg. With about 40,000 residents Neumarkt Regensburg, Weiden and Amberg is registered the fourth largest city in the Upper Palatinate and the Bavarian State Development Plan as a regional center. In the 15th and 16th centuries Neumarkt was a residence of the Wittelsbach line of Pfalz-Neumarkt and Pfalz-Mosbach. From the 19th century, the city symbol of the city developed increasingly becoming an economic and industrial center, several large companies have here today based.
