Ludwigslust [luːtvɪçslʊst] is a town in the district Ludwigslust-Parchim in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It is the administrative seat of the Office Ludwigslust country, but even amt free. The city is one of the 18 central centers of the country and is located in the metropolitan region of Hamburg. Well known is the abbreviation Lulu for the city name. Unique in North Germany is the ensemble around the Baroque palace Ludwigslust the Dukes of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, which is also known as the "Versailles of the North", as well as the question-scale residential city with many Denkmalbauten.
