Kusel, written to 1865 Cusel, is the county town of the district Kusel and administrative seat of the Verbandsgemeinde Kusel. Kusel is located on Kuselbach in southwestern Rhineland-Palatinate in North Palatine Uplands. With nearly 5,000 inhabitants Kusel is the smallest county seat in Germany. Kusel is a nationally recognized tourist and reported as a regional center under state planning.
