The Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, referred to in German as East Timor, is an island nation in Southeast Asia. It was the first state that was independent of the 21st century. The only land border separating East Timor from the Indonesian western part of the island of Timor belonging to the province of East Nusa Tenggara (Nusa Tenggara Timur) belongs. North are belonging to Indonesia islands Alor, Wetar and Liran and northeast other islands of the Indonesian province of Maluku. Australia is south, beyond the Timor Sea. In addition to the eastern part of Timor to the state of East Timor includes the exclave Oecusse District in West Timor and the islands of Atauro and Jaco.
