Djibouti

Djibouti ([dʒibuːti], Arabic جيبوتي Djibouti, French Djibouti, Somali Jabuuti, Afar Gabuuti) is a republic in East Africa to the Straits Bab-el-Mandeb. Its area is slightly larger than Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It borders to the north with Eritrea, to the west and to the south by Ethiopia and on the southeast by Somalia and the internationally unrecognized Somaliland and on the east by the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea. Yemen is located a few kilometers away on the other side of the Red Sea. Djibouti became independent of France in 1977. The population is about 60\% of Somali and 35\% from Afar.
