Stari Grad (Old Town for Croatian, Italian Cittavecchia, Greek in ancient Pharos) is a port town in the western part of the island of Hvar in Croatia Split-Dalmatia County. The port is one of the most important on the island. The village has 1,885 inhabitants (2011 census) and is therefore to Hvar is the second largest town on the island. Stari degrees to the mainland via a car ferry to Split, Pescara and Ancona and the coastal ferry Rijeka - connected Dubrovnik.
