Slano is a small town in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County in southern Croatia. Slano is located about 30 kilometers northwest of Dubrovnik. are located on the Bay of Slano the villages of Banja, Slano and Grgurići, because the bay Janska joins with Banići and Kručica. Slano was already inhabited in antiquity. There is a Roman castrum on the Gradina Mountain. Slano was purchased in 1399 by the Republic of Dubrovnik. The still standing Franciscan church was built in the 16th century. Parts of Slano are still destroyed by the Croatian-Serbian war, but will be under reconstruction.
