Josipdol (German deprecated: Josephsthal) is a municipality in central Croatia, near Ogulin in the Karlovac County. According to Census 2011, the town counted 3,773 inhabitants. Josipdol is located on the historically significant Josephine road (kroat. Jozefina), a former Salt Road, which runs from Karlovac to Senj and connects central Croatia with the coast. Josipdol is an important railway station for the surrounding villages in the region. Not far from Josipdol in Oštarije is an important railway junction. Here the railway lines from Rijeka and Split connecting to Zagreb. Literally means the city name or Josefstal Josef level.
