Costa Rica ([kostɑ rikɑ], Spanish for "rich coast") is a country in Central America, which is bordered to the north by Nicaragua and to the south by Panama. In the east it is bordered by the Caribbean Sea and the west by the Pacific Ocean. The country is considered one of the most advanced in Latin America.
