The Mianyang City (Chinese 綿陽 市 / 绵阳 市, pinyin Mianyang Shì) is a prefecture-level city in northern China's Sichuan Province. It is located on the middle reaches of the river Fu River and the railway Baoji-Chengdu. Mianyang has an area of ​​20,281 square kilometers and has a population of 5,290,000 inhabitants (2004). The capital and seat of government is the city of Fucheng County (Chinese 涪城 区, pinyin Fucheng Qū).
