Meilan (美兰 区, Měilán Qū) is the northeastern district of the prefectural city of Haikou in the north of Hainan Province in the People's Republic of China. It has an area of ​​553 km² and counted 510,000 inhabitants for the 2010 census. This makes it the most populated of the four districts of Haikou. In 2002, 510,000 inhabitants were counted. To Meilan, especially to the subdistrict Rénmínlù Jiēdào (人民 路 街道) include the islands of Haidian and Xinbu in the estuary of the Nandu River.
