Sillian is a market town in the Dolomites on the western border of East Tyrol in the district of Lienz in Austria. With 2046 inhabitants (1 January 2016) it is the capital of the so-called East Tyrolean Oberland. The economy in Sillian consists of tourism and numerous trade and service companies. The place has long-term average the most sunshine hours in Austria. The community is located in the judicial district Lienz. Sillian is located at an altitude of 1100 meters and is integrated via the Drautal track and the Drautalstraße in the transport network.
