Saalfelden is a town in the Austrian province of Salzburg and is the administrative center of the Pinzgauer Saalachtal. The village is located around 14 km north of the district capital Zell am See. With 16,400 inhabitants (1 January 2016) is Saalfelden the most populous city of the district Zell am See and to Salzburg and Hallein, the city with the third highest population in the state of Salzburg.
