Neumarkt in Styria is a former market town with 1699 inhabitants (as of October 31, 2013) in the judicial district and district Murau in Styria. As part of the municipal structural reform in Styria, it is from 1 January 2015 with the municipalities Dürnstein in Styria, Kulm am Zirbitz, Mariahof, Perchau on the saddle, Sankt Marein bei Neumarkt and Zeutschach united, the new municipality is called Marktgemeinde Neumarkt in the Styria lead. The basis for this is the Styrian Municipal Reform Act - StGsrG. A complaint filed by the municipality against the merger with the Constitutional Court was unsuccessful.
